This tool applies the presumptive child support guideline set out in Virginia Code § 20-108.2, including the schedule amounts as amended effective July 1, 2025. It is provided for general planning purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. The guideline amount produced here is a rebuttable presumption, not a final support order — a Virginia court may deviate from it after considering the factors in § 20-108.1(B), and this tool does not evaluate those factors, account for a parent’s other children, imputed income, deviation for extraordinary expenses, or any other case-specific adjustment. Important cautions. This calculator produces an estimate of the presumptive statutory guideline amount under Virginia Code § 20-108.2 and § 20-108.1 only. It does not consider, among other things: income imputation, spousal support paid or received between the parties, a parent’s support obligation for other children, extraordinary medical or educational expenses, the low-income and high-income adjustments some courts apply, or the specific deviation factors in § 20-108.1(B) that a judge may weigh to depart from the guideline figure. Combined monthly gross income between the listed schedule amounts is interpolated. Combined monthly gross income above $42,500 is calculated using the statutory percentage add-on for income above that threshold. The 90-day/25% shared-custody threshold referenced above reflects general guidance on the shared-support formula and should be confirmed against the current text of § 20-108.2 for your case.
